How to get insurance on a car that I am borrowing from my grandparents?

I am 19 and my grandparents are letting me borrow the car to get to work for the next couple of months. They have insurance, but they don't want to add me on because they think if i get into a car accident their insurance rate will sky rocket. So I got non-owners car insurance from Mercury but apparently that JUST covers the liability and not the car damages. What can I do in this case? Is there an insurance I can get that covers just damages?

To be honest,no one here can answer your question precisely. There are way too many variables. The only way to know is to ask an insurance company.
take a chance/you have covered the base/drive carefully and stay out of trouble
autoinsurance.maclenet.com – try this one. I have their car insurance and, as I know, they can provide such a service.
Liability is the minimum require for insurance if you want to drive. The idea is if you get into a car accident the other party will be covered. It is a crime to drive without liability insurance.
For the car damages you might want to consider more. For most older car it just doesn’t worth the money to get damage insurance. Unless you total the car you will end up paying more.
Try to convince you grandparents again, insurance for a 19 YO will be really expensive
